In need of a Name

I watched this woman all afternoon.  She spent much of the time submerged in the pool water visiting with her friends/family.  Finally she crawled out of the pool and into her chair, leaned back, took a deep breath, and stayed there for at least another hour.  She may not be much of a swimmer but she is a sun lover.
Relaxing in the heat of the full sun is not something I can do.  I bet she has a "screw it" attitude.  Gotta admire that!
Often I know the name of a painting before I even start.  This one has me stumped.  Anybody have a suggestion?

Mugshot of Karin

The members of Karin Jurick's Hilton Head workshop thought it would be a great idea to paint mugshots of each other.  We each mugged for the camera and we will paint one a week until we get through the class.  I fear that I will  have lost a few new friends when all my mugs are blogged.

This first mug is of Karin.  The noble leader of our little prison gang.  If you want to see what a really great mug should look like, check out Karin's blog, as well as, some of my other blogging friends.

New to Blogger

Welcome to my first blog.  I have a new group of artist friends that I met at Karin Jurick's workshop.  We painted hard, learned much, and had a great time.  They told me that I "must blog", so here I go.

I had an art show yesterday in Kiawah Island, S.C.    Why is it that the paintings you would like to have  around a little longer are always the first to sell?  I'm not complaining.  Selling is the name of the game, but it is an observation.
I sold this painting of a house on Queen St. in Charleston.  It is the latest in my series "Homes with Attitude".
